Patrick's last
serious race was at Paul Ricard in an AFAMAC meeting at Easter where he
finished 3rd just in front of Bill Swallow. But deep down Patrick
knew he had to pass the riding duties on to another person if he wanted
to continue to achieve success, he knew exactly who he wanted to fill
the vacant saddle "I knew from the start he would make like an earthquake
in the little world of Classic Racing" was Patrick's description of his
prodigy. "The first time I saw him was in a French National Supermotard
Race" (half motocross, half road race) "He was beating well known riders
on expensively prepared machines with the XT Yamaha he used for his everyday
transport.
" I realised
that he had not learned riding on the same planet as me"

The rider in
question was Bruno Leroy, not only a superb rider but a nice guy, always
happy, always enjoying his time where bikes are concerned. All in all "
A real Frog but with no arrogance" This 'Super Frog' has allowed Patrick
to concentrate on the mechanical side of racing with the aim of providing
Bruno with the very best machine possible from bikes which have not previously
had the ultimate in expensive tuning and exotic materials, the results speak
for themselves, and show not only Patrick's tuning skills but Bruno's remarkable
ability to be competitive on any machine. |

Prospects for
the future will see Bruno riding a Godet Petty Manx and Godet Seeley G50
in IHRO and INCA races and in the Manx Grand Prix.
Bruno will
also be aiding in the development of Patrick's ultra short stroke 500cc
Vincent project which looks promising for the future.
